Hello there!

 

This is Juan Mardones and I am a chilean/texan filmmaker.

I was born on December 16th, 1987, in Austin TX (USA). Then, in 1992, I moved with my family to Santiago de Chile.

​

At the age of 9 years old I became a die hard fan of Star Wars, being thanks to that awesome saga that I found out my passion for filmmaking and storytelling.

In 2008 I started to attend the Film & TV Direction program at University of Chile, from where I graduated in 2015.

​

Then, in the next 5 years I worked in brand activations (BTL) and in corporate video projects, where I developed my professional skills as a camera operator, location sound recordist and video editor.

​

In 2021, I started J.I.Mardones Films, my production company which is specialized in cinematic short video creation, and one year later, I moved from Santiago de Chile to Austin TX, my hometown, in order to find new oportunities and consolidate my career as a filmmaker.
